The world is facing its worst financial downturn since the Great Depression. Your country, already one of the poorest in the world for the past decades has been struggling to get the most basic stuffs to its people. A huge percentage of them are unemployed while inflation reaches record-high. Not only that, the population is struck by the deadly cholera that has killed thousands, adding to the millions who are already suffering from starvation. Imagine you are the president of this ill-fated country, what would you do?
Well, if you are Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe, you would throw down millions of dollars for your birthday celebration. And then you would spend another $5 million for a house overseas.
This is absolutely sickening, and I cannot help but wonder why the world can only watch and do nothing.
How Ignorant!!!
With Financial crisis the world is facing, the leaders should help their country instead of spending the money for themselves...

February 16, 2009 at 4:03 PMThis is a country that we should all drive our tanks into and liberate. Mugabe is robbing this country in broad daylight and all the world, America especially, could do is just make a few statements avery month or so.
It's not even inflation, they are experiencing hyperinflation. Imagine million and millions or their dollars is not even enough to buy a loaf of bread.
When Mugabe dies, people will be spitting on his grave.

If we were to be a leader in any organization, never neglect our priorities. It seems that when people reach the top, they tend to live with their desires and neglect their priorities. That is not easy because the correct and 'clean' way is always difficult.

February 17, 2009 at 2:01 AMi think people in zimbabwe is in deep down dilemma as it was due to mugabe's ruthless aggression that presented zimbabwe independence from the nasty claw of britain.
people of zimbabwe somehow owe him quite a chunk of what they have now, but mugabe's act of overusing privilege is totally dishonoring.
i have a zimbabwean friend in my class. being white, his family never actually lived in zimbabwe as racism was and still thickening and white zimbabweans are out of favor of any rights.
he was denied any sort of land, house and even a car ownership. and if we think chinese are struggling to get a place in local malaysian university, white zimbabweans have no place whatsoever for them, not even a slightest of chance.
his family had to track all the way to uk to seek refuge and most importantly, education. and still, mugabe's tiranny still choose to remain hostile towards the uk.
i asked him whether he still regard zimbabwe his country - and glimmer of hope and optimism radiated from his white face as he still stand proudly under tattered zimbabwean flag, and insisted that someday he will go back and stay in his motherland.
his family had to borrow quite a lot of money to pay for his education as he has to pay the same amount any international students have to pay for tuition fee. one can imagine how crazy it is to pay international student tuition fee on your own.
i can only hope his dream and every soul in the world's dream to see mugabe repent and perish will come true.
and i hope the triads will do something to mugabe's daughter. something like bukkake.

That's one amazing thing about us humans; our sense of belonging. We would travel around the world only to come back home to nasi lemak Mali's Corner. Even the British puritans that landed themselves in the New World to escape the harsh life back at home called their new home New England.
The people of Zimbabwe dah lama sangat living under Mugabe's regime that they maybe find it hard to imagine life sans Mugabe. Afraid maybe. Just like some Malaysians who held apocalyptical visions of Malaysia if a party other than BN were to rule the country.
You keep telling people the same lie everyday and they'll end up believing in it. Or you can tell a big ass lie, so big that the people would find it hard to believe that you've made up such a lie and tell it with such bravado and they'll end up believing in you. That's Hitler's Big Lie propaganda technique by the way, as seen on September 11 if you ask some people.
Throughout history mankind have traded their rights and privacy for the sake of security. Mugabe did this when he held and election and threatened to cut the hands of the people if they voted against him and so, the people voted Mugabe in. That is why Mugabe is refusing to budge to the the mosquito bite-esque nuisance from the West; his people elected him in. That is also what Americans did in the wake of Spetember 11 when they agreed on the Patriot act and the Germans did when they give Hitler full power above constitution after the Reichstag fire.
As Orwell puts it, If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face ... for ever.
